RM20,000 reward for info on missing man

KUALA LUMPUR: The family of a senior citizen reported missing three years ago after going out for breakfast at a restaurant in Kampung Bikam, Bidor, Perak three years ago, has offered RM20,000 to anybody with information of his whereabouts.
MCA Public Complaints Bureau chief Datuk Micheal Chong said Hoo Kee Chin 64, who went for breakfast at 10am on Feb 4, 2008 on a Suzuki motorcycle was reported missing .
His status was reported in the press but there has been no development since.
"It has been three years since he went missing...so his family has come forward to offer RM10,000.
"MCA will add another RM10,000 for information on his whereabouts, dead or alive," he told reporters here yesterday.
He said various efforts had been initiated to find Kee Chin, who is a money lender, including efforts by the police and Rela, but there has been no positive signs.
"The family has still not lost hope and believe that this way, the public will come forward to come with some kind of information."
Chong said Kee Chin, a fruit seller, had received a phone call on that morning and quickly left the house with RM13,000 cash.
"We have not ruled out involvement of criminals for his disappearance.
"He is well known among villagers since he gave out loans to friends for a low interest."
He said on Feb 5, 2008, Kee Chin's son found his father's motorcycle (registration number ACK 1256) in the bushes with the key still intact at Jalan Kuala Bikam and had lodged a police report.
He urged anyone with information to contact the MCA Public Complaints Bureau at 03-21615678 or the victim's son, Vivian, at 016-5657881. -- Bernama
